We learn that Deepak had cows, a rabbit and geese. We know that the photographers Deepak worked with often visited his farm, and that they sometimes stayed up till 2:00 a.m., photographing the view from their chair.

With the invention of smartphone cameras, it has become increasingly rare to find images like this being printed out and gifted to people. These are the kind of photographs that now stay on our phones, and are at most shared privately over text.

It is an evolution I have absolutely no complaints about.

This picture has drunk at a farmhouse energy. (I can’t verify this).

Why is it in the MAP archive? Did it just come along with the entire Deepak Puri collection? I wonder how much of a say museums have in determining the contents of the collections they acquire.

What do we do with these images of Deepak Puri’s farm in Baliawas, Gurgaon?

Well, we learn that Deepak sometimes sleeps outside, in his garden.
